Welcome

Thank you for your interest in joining our Halloween event: Trunk-or-Treat and Crafts.

Trunk-or-Treat and Crafts is a community event that sees families trick-or-treat outdoors from tailgate to tailgate in a fun, safe, and accessible environment. There are no spooky surprises, just treats and smiles! Inside the Odessa Fairgrounds Palace, the Odessa Agricultural Society will host Halloween games and crafts.

We’re excited to have you participate and help contribute to a fun, safe, and festive experience for our community.

Event Rules

To keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone, please review the following guidelines:

Treats & Candy

  • You must bring your own candy/treats/giveaways to hand out.
  • Expect between 1000 to 3500 event participants—please come prepared with enough giveaways for everyone!
  • All treats must be:
    • Peanut-free
    • Pre-packaged (no homemade items)
  • Please consider dietary restrictions when choosing your treats.
  • Not everyone can eat candy, so consider stocking some non-edible treats such as stickers, pencils, crayons, small toys, etc. stored in a bowl separate from your edible treats.

Vehicle & Decorations

  • All vehicles must be decorated for Halloween—family-friendly themes only!
  • No strobe lights or sudden loud noises, as they may scare or overwhelm some participants.
  • Power is not available, so plan accordingly.
  • Vehicle arrival and set-up happens between 11:00 am – 12:30 pm so that everyone can be ready for the event start at 1:00 pm.
  • Vehicles must remain turned off and stationary during the event.
  • Event participants are not allowed inside vehicles. Vehicles are for display purposes only.

Trunk-or-Treating

  • Each participating organization/group must have a person stationed at their trunk for the entire event which runs 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
  • We encourage you to dress up and get into the Halloween spirit! Please wear a family-friendly, spook-free costume.
  • Selling items is not allowed. All giveaways must be free.

Safety & Conduct

  • Different disabilities can affect how someone interacts with others. All it takes is a little patience and understanding to ensure that event participants feel comfortable and welcome.
  • Not everyone communicates in the same way. Practice patience and understanding. Event participants will greatly appreciate it.
  • No vehicles are permitted to enter, exit or move in the event space between 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
  • Loyalist Township reserves the right to:
    • Ask for inappropriate decorations to be removed
    • Deny entry to vehicles that don’t meet event standards

Have fun and stay safe!

  • We can’t wait to see your festive creativity in action!
