Complaint Process

A complaint that a member has contravened the Code of Conduct or the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act may be initiated by any person, any Member of Council, or by Council as follows:

(a) a complaint shall be made in writing;
(b) a complaint must be signed and dated by the complainant who shall be an identifiable individual (complaints may not be submitted by any group, organization or corporation);
(c) a complaint shall include:

(i) an explanation, with specific reference to sections of the Code or Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, as to why the issue raised is alleged to be a contravention of the Code or Act;
(ii) any evidence in support of the allegation; and
(iii) any witnesses in support of the allegation must be identified.

Once you have completed this form, click submit to send it the Integrity Commissioner.

The personal information as defined in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001 and will be used to process and investigate the complaint.   • What specific actions or conduct you believe have broken the rules in the Code of Conduct or the Conflict of Interest
  • The places, dates and times of when these things took place.
  • The names of persons who have been affected or have information about what took place.
  • How you learned of these things.
  • Anything else that you believe is relevant.
